A note from the founder
As a teacher at Phillips Exeter Academy and as a parent, I grew tired of seeing a student's learning reduced to a number. Around a Harkness table, I see everything that number leaves out: students testing ideas, articulating partial understanding, listening to one another, and making mistakes that move the conversation forward. Mathematics becomes a language they can speak—not simply a collection of procedures they are expected to reproduce.
I wanted every learner to have that experience. So I created Kelvi from an asset-based belief: learners arrive with ideas worth hearing, and teachers bring judgment worth preserving. Kelvi begins with what the learner already sees, asks the question that helps the idea develop, and adds support only when it is needed.
The goal is not to deliver answers faster. It is to help learners understand, articulate, and take ownership of their mathematical thinking.
